Can this guy sue me? I just sold a car?

Angelyn Ducas: Unless you live in a state where the seller is required to sell cars that will pass smog, you have no obligation. The buyer can sue you but it costs money to sue and he has no chance of winning. (Unless it didn't pass smog in one of those states where its required)All sales between private parties are assumed as is.90% of people who say they are going to sue never do....Show more

Sheldon Lally: anyone can sue anyone the question is will they win the answer is no because they bought the car as is

Patrick Bitsui: "Sorry, dude...wish I can help but I've already spent the money on my dad's bail"

Romeo Tinnea: If and when he calls you back just tell him that you sold the car " As Is" that you were upfront and honest with him. There is a lemon law in most states but, that law only applies to Car dealerships. You sold the car in good faith and he did check the car out and even test drove it. The car is no longer your responsibility.

Mack Uk! ich: Tell him he's S.O.L. - he bought the vehicle "as is". You owe him nothing.
