Let's say I download a movie from netflix then delete the app would I still be able to watch the movie?

Mack Ukich: No. The movies are encoded and can only be decoded by the app. It's the same with DVRs (like TIVO).

    Netflix licenses TV shows and films from studios all throughout the planet. In spite of the fact that we strive to keep the titles you need to watch, a few titles do leave Netflix due to licensing agreements.
